Of the six categories Conde Nast Traveler readers use to rank their favorite cities in the magazine’s annual survey, one is particularly personal—friendliness. Based entirely on real people’s first hand experience with our destination, friendliness is the a true measure of a community.
We know there are untold heroes working in our hospitality community. That’s why we’ve begun saluting Charlestonly Ambassadors, frontline folks who take pride in providing a customer service experience that is second to none. It’s our way of saying Thanks Y’all for helping the Charleston area put its best face forward everyday.
Please join us in saluting our two newest Charlestonly Ambassadors: Janet Rogers of the Charleston Museum and Cody Buchanan of Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
First up is Janet, who is always accommodating for guests and four-legged friends alike.
A couple came to visit the Charleston Museum and had their pet with them. Only allow service dogs are allowed to enter the museum, so the couple decided to let their pup stay behind in the car (it was a cool day) and hurry their way through the museum’s exhibits. Janet, who works in admissions, wanted the couple to be able to take their time and enjoy the museum. She called around and located a nearby doggie daycare. The couple was grateful for Janet’s suggestion, which allowed for them to do a lot more things during their visit to the Charleston area.
Next up is Cody, who helps create lasting memories for his guests.
A family was staying at the resort and sadly knew it would be their last trip to the beach together because the mother was in her last days of battling cancer. Cody wanted to make their time together especially memorable, so he filled several jars with sand and seashells so they would have a keepsake to remember their last trip to the beach with their mother.
